Elaine Chen

Elaine Chen is a WGSS Alumni. She is currently studying at UBC for her BSc in Cognitive Sciences. Elaine has over 3 years of tutoring experience with students ranging from elementary to AP high school levels. Elaine was the co-founder of the Active Minds Club at WGSS and continues to be active in mental health advocacy as a speaker for the Mental Health Commission of Canada. She has been working with youth since her early high school years: having been in leadership roles in CTS Youth Society, SFU Camps and several other initiatives involving youth. She thoroughly enjoys guiding youth in their academics and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. Her hobbies include, playing the piano, art, poetry, gaming, skating and listening to music.
Angela Cheng

Angela is a WGSS Alumni currently studying at U of T . She is hard-working and enjoys challenges. She has completed numerous higher level courses including AP Calculus, AP English, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. More than just academics, she enjoys sports, and is active in the athletic department. Angela’s hobbies include drawing and writing. Angela has an exemplary student award in Pre-cal 11. She achieves high marks in all her courses, and especially in advanced programs.
Peter Ho
Math 8-12, Chemistry 11 Honours, AP Physics 1
Peter is dedicated to ensuring that students at all levels have the opportunity to enhance their academic performance outside of school. With two years of experience in private tutoring, Peter has consistently helped peers and students achieve their academic goals. Demonstrating exceptional proficiency, Peter has achieved an average of 98% in his STEM and math courses. Beyond academics, Peter is an active member of the WGSS community, serving as the Grade 12 representative this year and as the Vice President of the LEOs club. In addition to their academic and leadership roles, Peter is passionate about sports, having competed at the provincial level in Track and Field, Cross Country, and Powerlifting.
Jane Kang

Jane is happy all day everyday Sunday Monday Friday Wednesday. Some adjectives for her: lively, humourous, academic-weapon, witty, and smart. Jane is always seeking intelligence, so she loves videos like Kurtzgesagt science channels (ei: How to destroy the Universe), likes to read psychological thrillers (ei: Crime and Punishment), and does Math problems during the summer because there’s nothing to do. But! No, she’s no ordinary nerd, she also likes creative stuff, like digital art, traditional watercolor, OC making, and likes to watch JJK. Jane is just Jane.
Sharon Lai

Sharon is an ambitious grade 12 student who is enrolled in multiple AP courses with high academic performances. She attends church regularly and is a helper in Sunday School. While she was also a student aide at school last year, these activities allowed her to acquire great communication skills and patience towards children aged in various rage. Sharon enjoys singing, drawing, reading, photographing, and playing guitar. She is also so good at balancing different aspects of her life, in which she volunteers regularly, handles house work, has an excellent work ethic and achieves an average of 96% in her grade 11 classes.
Seohyun Lee
Math 8-11, English 8-10 (+Honours), French 8-10, English Writing
Serena is a cheerful person who finds many things silly. She enjoys singing, and is in three separate choirs. She also really enjoys classical literature, and would happily speak to you about 'Metamorphosis' by Franz Kafka (Please read it: it's absolutely the best piece in the world. It's located in the classical literature section in the school library). As for academic achievements, she has been in French Immersion since kindergarten. Moreover, she has earned over 90% in AP Lang, and in additional English classes.
Tiffany Liu

Tiffany is an easy going, friendly and on par tutor working at Summit Academics! Her hobbies are art, piano and very beginner taekwondo. She likes people-related volunteers, including Reading Buddies, Langley Hospice Society shop assistant, CTS summer camp Leader, and UBC gearing up Junior Instructor, hence having experience teaching others. She’s also a dedicated choir member of two years (going into three!) and one of the executives for the Biology club at school. Tiffany holds strong 92%+ grades in English, Social Studies and all three sciences (especially in english and biology!), and is currently taking AP calculus, AP chemistry, AP psychology and AP biology in their grade 12 year.
Jasleen Sekhon
Chemistry 11 Honours, AP Chemistry
Jasleen is a grade 12 student at WGSS. She is hardworking and is always looking for ways to challenge herself such as completing difficult classes such as AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Computer Science , AP Language and Composition and AP Physics 1. Along with this, Jasleen has a good work ethic and has above 90% in all her classes. Jasleen is an active member of the community and leads two clubs. In her free time, Jasleen enjoys reading and painting.
Sophie You
French 8-10
Sophie is an open-minded individual with a wide range of hobbies. Sometimes, she enjoys reading and listening to music, while other times, she likes to go for a swim. However, Sophie dedicates the most time to her favorite hobby – sleeping. She also likes to academically challenge herself with French immersion and AP courses. Being naturally curious, she loves to learn about new things. Recently, she has been trying to learn guitar.
